OBITUARY – We regret to record the death of Thomas Ashton, Bronhaul, which took place on Monday, after a seizure about a week previous, although he had been in bad health for several weeks. Deceased was a shoemaker by trade. The funeral took place on Thursday when the Rev. J.H. Rowlands (vicar) officiated. Among the wreaths received was one from the Trefeglwys Eisteddford Committee, of which the deceased was a faithful member. We also regret to record the death of Mrs Thomas, wife of Mr David Thomas, Rhiwen, which took place on Monday after a long illness. At the funeral on Thursday, the Rev. Morris Thomas officiated at the house, and Revs W.T. Roberts and Morris Thomas at the graveside at Gleiniant Cemetery. Deceased has left a husband, son and daughter to mourn the loss at the early age of 47.
