1 In the Name of God Amen I Henry
2 Humphreys of Argoed in the Parish of Trefeglwys in the County of
3 Montgomery Gentleman being of sound and disposing Mind Memory
4 and understanding Do make this my last Will and Testament in
5 manner and form following Whereas my Son George David Humphreys
6 of Argoed aforesaid hath on the day of the date hereof entered into and
7 executed a Bond to his two Sisters Hannah Humphreys and Rebecca
8 Humphreys and his Brother in Law John Jones of Cwmbyehan bach
9 in the Parish of Darowen in the said County Husband of my Daughter
10 Jane for securing the payment of them of the Sum of Nine Hundred
11 Pounds with Interest at the time therein expressed being the fortune or portion
12 intended by me to be willed and given to equally divided between them
13 the said Hannah Humphreys and Rebecca Humphreys and John Jones
14 and to be charged on my real Estate in the said County of Montgomery
15 Now I the said Henry Humphreys in Consideration thereof and
16 of the natural Love and affection which I have for my said Son
17 George David Humphreys Do by this my last Will and Testament
18 Give and bequeath unto him my said Son All my Stock of Horses
19 Cattle and Sheep Implements in Husbandry Household Goods and
20 Furniture Plate and Linen Monies and Securities for Money and all
21 other my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever to the
22 sole use and benefit of him my said Son George David Humphreys
23 (expect such part of my said Household Furniture Plate and Linen as Jane
24 my beloved Wife shall or may after my decease choose desire and
25 point out to have for her own use and disposal provided nevertheless
26 that such part of my said Household Furniture Plate and Linen shall
27 no exceed in Value the Sum of Forty Pounds And Lastly I do
28 hereby nominate constiute and appoint my said Son George David
29 Humphreys and my said Wife Jane Humphreys Executor and Executrix of
30 this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all

31 former Will or Wills by me at any time hereafore made and declaring this
32 to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Henry
33 Humphreys the Testator have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the twenty sixth
34 day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and twenty

40 for his last Will and Testament in the presence
41 of us who in his presence and at his request and
42 in the presence of each other have subscribed

46 On the ninth Day of October in the year of our
47 Lord 1824 the within written Will was insinuated
48 proved, approved, and in common form of Law decreed
49 Valid, and administration granted to George David
50 Humphreys one of the Executors within named, he being
51 first sworn in common form of Law and that the whole
52 of the goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased do
52 not amount in Value to four hundred and fifty
53 Pounds
