17 This is the last Will and Testament
18 of me Andrew Jones of Gwernafon in the parish of Trefeglwys in the
19 County of Montgomery Gentleman I Give and bequeath to each of my
20 undermentioned Children (that is to say) Charles, Thomas and Mary the
21 sum of Two hundred and fifty Pounds And to my Daughter Sarah the Sum of
22 Fifty Pound I Give and bequeath to each of my undermentioned Grand
23 Children being the Son and Daughters of my late Son Edward deceased namely
24 Mary, Richard, Elizabeth, Sarah and Margaret the sum of Ten Pounds and
25 I empower my Executors hereinafter named to apply for the advancement
26 or otherwise for the benefit of each of my said Grand Children during his or her
27 minority the whole or any portion of the Legacy to which such Grand
28 Child shall be entitled and the unapplied portion if any shall be
29 deposited in some savings Bank for the benefit of him or her I Give and
30 bequeath to my dear wife Elizabeth Fifty Pounds to be paid to her within three
31 months after my decease I also Devise to my said wife for her life a place to live in
32 the same to be such one of the .d. of Glanyrafon House which she shall think
33 proper to select I also give and bequeath to my said wife absolutely such position
34 of my Household Furniture Flax Linen China Glass Liquors Fuel and
35 housekeeping stores as she may chose to take not exceeding in value the
36 Sum of Twenty Pounds I also give to my said wife for her life the yearly
37 Sum of Ten Pounds which yearly sum shall issue as a Part charge out of
38 all my freehold Land and be payable quarterly on the twenty fifth day of
39 March the twenty fourth day of June the twenty ninth day of September
40 and the twenty fifth day of December the first payment to be made on
41 such of the same days as shall happen next after my decease and to be
42 recoverable by my said wife in like manner with rent reserved on common
43 demises I declare that the provisions hereby made for my said wife shall
44 be accepted by her in full satisfaction of her claim to dowes and free bouch
45 out of any real Estate of which I have been or now am or shall be seized
46 I expressly charge all my real and personal property with the payment
47 of my debts, the Legacies herein before given, my Funeral and Testamentory
48 Expenses and the expenses of proving this my will And as to all the
49 residue of my real and personal property whatsoever and wheresoever I
50 devise and bequeath the same as follows that is to say As to the

57 Residue of my personal property, to my three Sons Andrew David and
58 Richard their Executors and Administrators absolutely And as to the residue
59 of my Real property, to my same three Sons Andrew, David and Richard
60 their heirs and assigns for ever as Tenants in common. But as to the
61 share of my said Son Richard of the Real property I charge the same
62 with the payment of the sum of Two hundred and fifty Pounds to my
63 said Son Andrew which Sum I give to my said Son Andrew accordingly
64 I appoint my three sons the said Andrew David and Richard Executors
65 of my Will and hereby revoke all other Wills In witness whereof I have
66 to each Sheet of this my will set my hand this thirty first day of
67 December in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and forty

78 ON the thirteenth day of August in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty two, the
79 above Will was insinuated, proved, approved and in common form of law decreed valid, and
80 Administration granted to Andrew Jones and Richard Jones, two of the Executors within named
81 they being first sworn in common form of law, and that the whole of the Goods, Chattels and
82 Credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to One Thousand Pounds, power
83 being reserved for David Jones, the other executor therein named, to take upon him the
84 execution thereof, whenever he shall lawfully demand the same
