1 In the Name of God Amen,
2 I Valentine Ashton of Maesyblawd in the
3 Parish of Trefeglwys and County of Montgomery
4 Farmer, being sick in body but of sound mind
5 memory and understanding praised be God for
6 the same. do make this my last Will and
7 Testmament in manner and Form Following.
8 First I order my Executors hereafter named to pay
9 all my debts Funeral Expenses and the proveing
10 of this my last Will and Testament
11 likewise I give and bequeath unto my Wife Martha
12 Ashton and my Son John Ashton those two
13 Pieces of [interline:] Land [end] situate on Dolgwden in the Parish of
14 Trefeglwys and County of Montgomery. Share and
15 Share alike during the life of my said wife
16 Martha Ashton and afterwards I order and
17 bequeath the whole portion of the said two pieces
18 of Land unto the said my Son John Ashton
19 his heirs and assigns for ever. and likewise
20 I give and bequeath all the rest residue and
21 remainder of my Money Bills Bonds Goods Chattels
22 and whatsoever besides which belong or appertain
23 to me by claim or Title unto my aforesaid wife
24 Martha Ashton and my said son John Ashton

25 Jointly and severally share and share alike when
26 which I now appoint constitute and ordain to be
27 my Sole Executors of this my last will and Testament
28 and I do disannul and make void all other Will or
29 Wills made by me as heretofore and allow this to be
30 my only and last Will and Testament in witness to the
31 same I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this
32 Twenty third day of May one Thousand Eight Hundred
33 and Forty Three

45 One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Eight the within written
46 will was insinuated, proved, approved, and in common form
47 of law decreed valid, and Administration granted to the
48 within named Executors, Martha Ashton and John Ashton,
49 they being first sworn in common form of law, and that
50 the whole of the goods, chattels and credits of the said
51 deceased do not amount in value to One
52 Hundred Pounds
