1 This is the last Will and Testament of me Dorothy Savage of the
2 village of Trefeglwys in the County of Montgomery Widow, First I Give and
3 bequeath unto my Son William Savage the Sum of One Hundred and Thirty Pounds
4 to be paid him at the expiration of three months after my decease out of my Personal
5 Estate I Give and bequeath to my Five Daughters namely Elizabeth the Wife of
6 Evan Jenkins Dorothy the Wife of James Mills Mary the Wife of John Davies
7 Sarah the Wife of John Lloyd and Ann the wife of Edward Mills the sum of
8 Twenty Pounds a piece to be be paid them at the expiration of three months after
9 my decease out of my personal Estate. I Give and bequeath to my Son Edward
10 the Bedstead Feather Bed and Bedclothes on which he sleeps and the Bureau in
11 the Chamber and two Chairs, I also Give and bequeath to my Son William the
12 Bedstead and hangings Feather bed and Bedclothes the Chest of the room in which
13 he generally sleeps and two chairs. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth the
14 Bedstead at the foot of my Son William‘s Bed, the small Table under the Window
15 in the Parlour and the Chairs, I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Dorothy the
16 armed chair in the Chamber one other chair two sheets and the Tea chest in
17 the Parlour, I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary the smallest round
18 Table in the Parlour the safe in the Cheese room two chairs and the old Bedstead
19 and hanginges in my Son William‘s room, I Give and bequeath to my Daughter
20 Sarah the Chest and Drawers the large Dining Table and looking Glass in the Parlour
21 two Charis and the Col.er in the Pantry I Give and bequeath to my Daughter
22 Ann the Bedstead and Hangings Feather Bed and Bedclothes in my own room
23 called the Chamber the largest round Table and the Tea board in the Parlour
24 and two chairs And whereas I am possessed of certain Freehold Estates
25 situate in the Parish of Trefeglwys in the said County of Montgomery
26 and which said Estates (except an Allotment of waste Land on Eshergroes,
27 were lately sold by Auction in three Lots to different persons for the
28 sum of Two thousand one hundred and Forty Pounds And whereas the
29 said Freehold Estates are subject to a Mortgage Debt of One thousand five
30 hundred Pounds with an arrear of Interest due thereon and the said Estates
31 are also subject to a Legacy or Sum of Fifty Pounds bequeathed by my late
32 husband to my Daughter Ann the Wife of Edward Mills with som arrear
33 of Interest And whereas there is due from me to Mr Edward Edwards of
34 Cyll the Sum of One Hundred Pounds with some arrear of Interest and
35 for which he has my Bond And whereas there is also due from me to my
36 Son Edward Savage the Sum of Two Hundred Pounds and for which he

42 has my Promissory Note payable with lawful Interest And there is also due
43 from me to my said Son William Savage the Sum of One Hundred Pounds
44 and for which sum he has my Promissory Note payable with lawful
45 Interest And I do hereby charge all my said Freehold Estates with the
46 Payment of the three several last mentioned sums of One Hundred Pounds
47 Two Hundred Pounds and One Hundred Pounds and the Interest due and to
48 grow due thereon And subject thereto and to the said Mortgage Debt of
49 One thousand five hundred Pounds and the Interest thereof and to the said
50 Legacy or sum of Fifty Pounds so bequeathed to my Daughter Ann as
51 aforesaid and the Interest thereof I Give and devise all my said Freehold
52 Estates situate in the Parish of Trefeglwys aforesaid unto my said Son
53 William Savage his heirs and assigns for ever And as to all my Household
54 Goods and Furniture Farming Stock and all other my personal Estate of
55 what nature or kind the same may be and not hereinbefore given and
56 disposed of after payment of my single contract debts Funeral Expences
57 the Expence of proving this my Will and the before mentioned Legacy of
58 One Hundred and Thirty Pounds to my Son William and also the
59 before mentioned Legacies to my said Five Daughters I Give and bequeath
60 the same to my said Son William Savage to and for his own use and
61 benefit And I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Son
62 William Savage Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
63 I hereby revoking all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at
64 any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I the said Dorothy Savage
65 the Testatrix hae to thsi my last Will and Testament contained in Two
66 sheets of paper set my hand at the bottom of the first sheet and my
67 hand and seal to this ssecond and last sheet this seventh Day of March
68 in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four

83 On the sixth day of September in the year of our Lord 1824 the within written Will
84 was insinuated, proved, approved, and in common form of law decreed valid and
85 Administration granted to the within named Executor William Savage he being first
86 sworn in common form of Law and that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of
87 the said deceased do not amount in Value to three hundred Pounds
