1 In the Name of God Amen I David Evans of Red House in the
2 Parish of Trefeglwys in the County of Montgomery Gentleman Do make this my last Will
3 and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) I First I will and direct that
4 all my just Debts and the Legacy hereinafter bequeathed shall be paid and discharged by
5 my Executors hereinafter named and that my real Estate hereinafter mentioned shall be
6 liable and subject to the payment thereof in case my personal Estate shall not be sufficient
7 for that purpose I Give and bequeath unto my Son in law Thomas Hamer
8 now of the Red House aforesaid All my Household Goods and Furniture Plate
9 and Linen Dairy and Brewing Utensils now in or at the Red House aforesaid
10 to and for his own use and benefit Subject to the payment of my Funeral Expenses
11 which I hereby will and direct are to be paid and discharged by him the said Thomas
12 Hamer. I Give and bequeath unto my Son in Law David Davies of Penyrhwio
13 in the Parish of Trefeglwys aforesaid Farmer the Sum of One Hundred Pounds to be
14 paid him without Interest by my Executors hereinafter named at the expiration of Ten
15 Yeares after my decease. I Give devise direct limit and appoint unto my Sons in
16 Law Stephen Kinsey of the Red House in the Parish of Llandinam in the said County
17 the said Thomas Hamer Richard Powell of Dolwen in the said Parish of Llandinam
18 and Thomas Kinsey of Maesmawr in the Parish of Llandinam aforesaid
19 Gentlemen their Heirs and assigns All those my Messuages or Tenements Kunes(?)
20 and Lands with the appurtenances thereunto belonging called and known by the
21 names of Red House and Penycoed situate and being in the Parish of Trefeglwys
22 in the County of Montgomery and all and singular other my real Estate whatsoever
23 and wheresoever which I am now possessed or entitled to in my manner To hold
24 the same Messuages Lands and premises and every part thereof with the
25 Appurtenances unto the said Stephen Kinsey Thomas Hamer Richard Powell
26 and Thomas Kinsey their Heirs and Assigns for ever to take as Tenants in
27 Common and not as join Tenants Subject nevertheless to the present Mortgage
28 affecting the same premises and to the payment of my just Debts and the before
29 mentioned Legacy of one Hundred Pounds by me bequeathed to the said David
30 Davies as aforesaid And as to the rest residue and remainder of my Goods

31 personal Estate and Effects Monies and Securities for Money whatsoever or
32 wheresoever and before me given or disposed of I give and bequeath the same
33 Subject to the payment of my just Debts and the Expence of proving this my
34 Will unto the said Stephen Kinsey Thomas Hamer Richard Powell and Thomas
35 Kinsey share and share alike And I do hereby nominate constitute and
36 appoint the said Stephen Kinsey Thomas Hamer Richard Powell and Thomas
37 Kinsey share and share alike And I do hereby nominate constitute and
38 appoint the said Stephen Kinsey Thomas Hamer Richard Powell and Thomas
39 Kinsey joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking
40 and making void all and every former or other Will and Wills at any time
41 heretofore by me made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament
42 In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the twenty
43 ninth day of May in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
44 twenty two

62 common form of Law and that the whole of the goods, Chattels
63 and Credits of the said deceased do not amount in Value to six
64 hundred Pounds

    Your website is well organized, wonderfully helpful and most interesting.
    My thanks to you for your transcriptions of censuses and especially of wills, particularly for this one of the will of David Evans of Red House,Trefeglwys, which I could not find at first on the National Library website.
    I take the liberty in a friendly way to point out two typos, a small omission and a repetition:
    l. 2 Montogmery, l. 9 Diary l. 17 Powell _of_ Dolwen
    lines 37 (just after Kinsey) to 39 (including Kinsey) are a repetition.
    You have of course undertaken a Herculean task, and with a very high degree of accuracy.
