1 This is the Last Will and Testament
2 of me Andrew Boundford of the Parish of Trefeglwys
3 in the County of Montgomery (Farmer) being very
4 Weak in Body but of perfect mind Memory and
5 Understanding Thanks be given unto God for the
6 same and calling to time the Mortality of any
7 Body and knowing That it is appointee for
8 all Men once to Die – do make and ordain
9 this my Last Will and Testament That is to say
10 Principally and first of all I Give and Recommend
11 my Soul into the Hands of God that give it
12 and for my Body I Recommend it to the Earth
13 to be Buried in a Christian like and decent Manner
14 at the Discretion of my Executrix nothing doubting
15 but at the General Reservation. I shall receive
16 the same again by the Almighty Power of god
17 and as touching such Wordly Estate wherewith it
18 has pleased God to bless me in this Life. I give
19 Devise and Dispose of the Same in Manner and
20 Form following that is to say

22 Imprimis I give and Bequeath unto my Dear
23 Beloved Wife Elizabeth Bumford my Loom
24 and all that belongs to it – a pot and bake iron
25 a tea cetle and two Boxes a Coffer and Brandvion
26 a round table knives and forks pig.ns and spoons

27 Item I give and Bequeath unto my Brother John
28 Bumford my Sister Mary Thomas and my sister
29 Sarrah Ashton the whole of my Body Cloths to
30 be divided equally [crossed out: divided] between them share
31 and share alike Item I give and Bequeath
32 unto Morgan Thomas of [crossed out: Viches} Llwyntew one Cart and wheels
33 I is my will that the Cows and mare and gearing
34 and all my Houshold furniture shall be sold
35 after my Death to pay be depts and funeral
36 expenses except what was left to my wife
37 Item – I is my will that the Child which I have
38 taken to Maintain for ten years of wich there is
39 three years expired and twelve pounds received
40 which is the one half of the money – Shoud be
41 left with my wife until the Time is expired
42 which is seven years – and that she shall
43 receive the remainder of the money next
44 May day
45 Item I further give and Bequeath unto my bloved
46 wife the sum of five pounds to be paid by my
47 Executors hereinafter mentioned at the expiration
48 of seven years if she maintains the child with
49 out expenses to the Executors
50 Item I further give and Bequeath unto my bloved
51 wife Elizabeth BumfordJohn Bumford my Brother
52 Mary Thomas my Sister and my sister Sarrah
53 Ashton the whole of my estate or tenement

53 called Minfordd to be sold and equally
54 divided between them share and share alike
55 Except the five pounds which is left my wife
56 towards the maintenance of the Child
57 which five pounds is to be taken out of each
58 person’s share when the land will be sold
59 which land or tenement called Minfordd shall
60 be sold within the term of Seven years after may
61 next Item I give and Bequeath unto John Bumford
62 son to my Brother John Bumford the sum of four pounds
63 out of my Brother John Bumford‘s share
64 Item – I give and Bequeath unto Elizabeth Bumford
65 Daughter to my Brother John Bumford the sum of
66 ten shillings – and also I give and Bequeath unto
67 her sister Sarah Bumford the sum of ten shillings
68 Item I give and Bequeath unto Mary Thomas Daughter to my
69 sister Mary Thomas the sum of five pounds to be taken out of
70 my sister Mary Thomas‘s share
71 Item – I do hereby nominate and appoint Evan Woosnam Esq
72 and Morgan Thomas as my Executors of this will and hereby
73 revokgin all former and other Wills by me heretofore made
74 I declare this to be my last will and Testament in witness
75 whereof I the said Andrew Bumford Testator to this my last will and
76 Testament have set my hand and seal this thirty first
77 Day of March one thousand Eight hundred and twenty four

89 1825 the within written will was insinuated, proved,
90 approved and in common form of law decreed Valid
91 and administration granted to Morgan Thomas one of
92 the within named Executors of Power being reserved for
93 Evan Woosnam Esqr the other Executor to take upon him
94 the Executor thereof whenever he shall lawfully demand
95 the same / He being first sworn in common form of Law
96 and that the whole of the goods Chattels and Credits of the said
97 deceased do not amount in value to Twenty Pounds

144 Llanwnog in the County of Montgomery of one of the

145 Executor named in the Will and Testament of Andrew Bumford
146 late of Minffordd in the Parish of Trefeglwys in the
147 County of Montgomery
148 who
149 died on the third day of April 1824 Maketh Oath
150 and .a.th that he made diligent search and due enquiry, after
151 and in respect of the personal Estate and Effects, of the said deceased, in order
152 to ascertain the full amount and value thereof; and that to the best of her
153 knowledge and belief, the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits, of which
154 the said deceased died possessed within the Diocese of BANGOR, (exclusive of what
155 the said deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to as a Trustee for
156 any other Person, or Persons, and not beneficially, but including the Lease-
157 hold Estate for years, of the deceased, whether absolute or determinable on lives,
158 and without deducting any thing on account of the debts due and owing from
159 the deceased) are under the value of twenty Pounds

160 and the deponent further saith that the said deceased had no Personal
161 Estate and Effects at the time of his decease within any other Diocese to
162 whcih this deponent needs to administer
