1 In the Name of Name of God Amen this is
2 the last Will and Testament of me Rich-
3 ard Lewis of Fairdref vawr in the Parish
4 of Trefeglwys County of Montgomery
5 Farmer as follows viz I appoint my
6 Brother Evan Lewis of Dderwd llwy-
7 dion in the said Parish of Trefeglwys
8 Farmer, and my Son in Law David
9 Davies of the said Fairdref vawr joint
10 Executors of this my Will to dispose of
11 my Effects [crossed out: in the] consisting of my Farming
12 Stock, Implements of Husbandry, Household
13 Furniture and whatever other Property either
14 Real or Personal that I may or do now
15 possess in the manner following. In the first
16 place I give and bequeath to my Brother
17 Evan Lewis the Sum of Forty Pounds of
18 good and lawful money of great Britain
19 to be paid from the value of my Stock as
20 above specified by my Son in Law David
21 Davies of Faedref vawr , one of my Executors,
22 at or before the Expiration of one year
23 after my Decease fo. from Property ten
24 or any other Incumbrance whatever
25 Secondly I give and bequeath the whole of my
26 Stock and Property as abovenamed to my Son
27 in Law David Davies my Executor except
28 that he [insert one word:] the said David Davies must be subject
29 to pay the Legacy to my Brother Evan

30 Lewis, also all my just Debts, Funeral
31 Expenses, the Expence of proving this my
32 last Will, and also all other Legal Debts
33 which may be proved I now owe, so that
34 my Brother Evan Lewis may not be subject
35 to my Debts, Contraits or Is by me made
36 and the above is the full Intest and mean
37 ing of this my Will, dated this Twenty
38 First day of May one Thousand eight

56 Davies they being first sworn in common form
57 of Law and that the whole of the Goods Chattels
58 and Credits of the said Deceased do not amount
59 in Value to three hundred Pounds
