1 This is the last Will and Testament of me Edward Edwards
2 of the Cull in the Parish of Trefeglwys and County of Montgomery
3 First I direct that all my just Debts, Funeral Expenses and testam
4 mentary be paid by my Executor hereafter named
5 I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Campion the sum
6 of twenty pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain
7 Also I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Edwards
8 the sum of twenty pounds of good and lawful money. Also
9 I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann in America
10 the sum of twenty Pounds of good and lawful money of Great Britain
11 Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth
12 Davies the sum of twenty six pounds of good and lawfull
13 as for my other children I give them nothing at present
14 as they have already had. The above legacies are to be
15 paid in twelve months after my Decease and I do
16 hereby constitute and appoint my Son Richard Edwards
17 my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
18 and hereby revoking and making void all former
19 and other wills by me heretofore made, I declare this to be
20 my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the
21 said Edward Edwards have let my hand and seale
22 This twenty fourth Day of March in the year of our Lord one thou
23 sand Eight hundred and fifty two

  1. Thank you for such a wonderful website. I have learned a great deal. Edward Edwards was my third great grandfather.
    On the transcription, line 21, it says “said David Edward Edwards”. The image clearly does not show the name “David”. I believe the word “said” in the image looks like “David” and was transcribed as such in error.
    You are doing fabulous work and I certainly appreciate it.
